More than 550 species of birds (there are 1600 species in the country) can be found in the Amazon Rainforest.

There are some bird species that can be seen only in the Tropics, such as macaws, parrots, budgies and toucans.  The noisiest animal: “red holier”, the biggest rodent: “capybara”, and the smallest monkey in the world: “pigmy marmoset monkey” all of them live in the Ecuadorian Amazon rain forest.

Besides the nature Ecuadorians indigenous communities based their knowledge in the rainforest, in this way, they can use many medicinal plants to cure several deceases.
